AFAYRO 20 Tablet 28's contains Afatinib, which belongs to a group of medicines called Kinase inhibitors. AFAYRO 20 Tablet 28's is used as a first line of management in patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) whose tumours have non-resistant epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations (genetic mutations) in cancer cells, which can be detected by an FDA-approved test.

AFAYRO 20 Tablet 28's is also used to manage metastatic squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in patients who might have made some progress with platinum-based chemotherapy (drug therapy used to manage non-small cell lung cancer).

AFAYRO 20 Tablet 28's is not recommended for use if you are allergic to Afatinib. Before taking AFAYRO 20 Tablet 28's, inform your doctor if you have eye, lung, heart, liver, and/or kidney problems.

AFAYRO 20 Tablet 28's is not recommended for use during pregnancy since it may cause harm to the unborn baby. It is also not recommended for use by breastfeeding women since it may pass through breast milk and cause unwanted side effects in breastfed babies.

AFAYRO 20 Tablet 28's is also not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years).

The most common side effects of taking AFAYRO 20 Tablet 28's are decreased appetite or weight, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, dry skin, pain or peeling of the skin (hands and feet), and/or stomach pain. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms get worse.
